One of the things that makes change and transition so difficult is that it can be very hard to imagine yourself surviving, much less thriving, in a different set of circumstances. Though change is rarely easy, the fear of it often brings far more pain than the change itself. Resisting the transformation process necessary to be successful in the next season of your life can make you feel trapped, scared, miserable, depressed, even physically ill. Instead of being confident and strengthened, you enter the new season feeling resentful and drained.
God is love itself. All His thoughts toward you are motivated by love of you, and wanting you to grow in that love. His desire is to prepare you for an upgraded life that the level of love and wisdom you have now can’t fully occupy. Being willing to let go of who you have been to risk becoming who He is says you can be is faith that will enable you to picture yourself living more powerfully and joyfully than you ever have, despite the circumstances and challenges. As you align yourself to what God is saying rather than what your fear and frustration have been screaming at you, you begin to transform into a larger, more amazing mindset and life, and transition becomes faster, easier, and even exciting. Get alone, take a deep breath or two or ten, and ask the Lord who you are becoming in Him, and who He wants to be for you right now that He could not be before.
