It sounds so clichéd, but every failure really is an opportunity. No, it’s more than that- it’s a sacred moment in which you have an invitation to give your shame, frustration, disappointment, and fear of future failure to God. In exchange, He will upgrade your life. Again, that may seem like such an overused buzz phrase, but I know it’s true. He transforms your heart by taking you through forgiveness- forgiveness you need from Him, and forgiveness you may need to give to someone else. He changes your thinking by showing you what there is to learn from the experience, and how to see yourself and everything else from His perspective. If you will let Him, He will empower you to overcome the next temptation or situation by continuously showing you how to live as the brilliant, amazing son or daughter He sees you as, instead of the worthless, hopeless person the enemy accuses you of being. You are not the totality of your failures. You are the sum of God’s thoughts toward you.
