What If?

psalm 18 deer

This is the day to trade in your “whatifs”. You’re skilled with the ones you have – what if I fail, what if there’s not enough, what if that person doesn’t change, what if I’m trapped here, what if something bad happens, what if I lose everything…each one leads to a waterfall of negative thoughts that crush the life out of you.

What if…you change the way you look at your circumstances? What if you dare to look at your life from God’s presence, from His peace, instead of from fear, bitterness, or exhausted self-reliance? What would your whatifs sound like?

What if God knows your circumstances better than you? What if not one thing in your life has Him worried, anxious, or stressed? What if He has attached far greater provision, blessing, and opportunity to what everyday life, your mistakes, or the enemy have hit you with? What if He has a brilliant life strategy for you to discover with Him? What if He has more powerful, peaceful, and joyful ways for you relate to your world and everyone in it? What if He has already factored in all your mistakes and failures into your future? What if Jesus loves you more than you’ve let yourself hope? What if He is able to show you how to make this one of the best days of your life?

Meditate on those whatifs with the Holy Spirit until His answers become your identity.

“The Lord is on my side, therefore I will not fear- what can man do to me? I shall not die, but live, and tell of all that God has done. God has made this day; I choose to be joyful and come alive in it.” (Psalm 118)
