More Than Enough

There is more than enough grace to deal with sin (Romans 5:20-21). That doesn’t just mean for the bad choices you’ve made, but for all the offenses, pain, rejection, anxiety, frustration, stress, and injustice that attack you. For every sin against you, there is a far greater grace, peace, joy, hope, faith, and love that is available to overwhelm it all. In those times that doesn’t seem true, when I can’t see the grace, it’s usually because I won’t forgive, I won’t let go of my consuming offense at what has happened and my need to know why. Unless I want to live in that bitterness, I need to forgive, and ask God to renew how I think about it all (Rom. 12.2).

The Lord has made this day, so we will rejoice and be glad in it! (Psalm 118.24).

Personalize that. Say it out loud: “I will rejoice.” Say it again. You are choosing grace and joy over bitterness and fear— “I WILL rejoice.”
It is a choice. He has made this day— He knows your circumstances, including every offense, and all the opportunities that are attached to them. He knows you, all your sins and failures, and knows they don’t define you. He knows what you need in this day to take another step or two toward transforming into the person that He created you to be.

Choosing grace is choosing to live in His presence. It’s choosing to be like Jesus. He does not live in anxiety, self-pity, anger, bitterness, offense, fear, or stubborn pride. He lives in joy (Rom. 14.17). Choose joy, so that you will become joyful. Joy-filled. Decide to live in such joy that you can see what your Father is seeing, go where He is going, and become what He is offering in grace. Because there is more than enough.
