Recognize when you’re relating to God as an orphan. It’s “Our Father”, not “Oh Distant and Inconsistently Accessible Being”. You are a beloved son or daughter. You don’t have to beg God to listen or pay attention to you. His delight is to know your heart and for you to know His. He wants to teach you to pray from His presence, in agreement with His peace, grace, joy, wisdom, and love. It’s the enemy who has been telling you to beg for what you already have. Stop picturing prayer as knocking on heaven’s door. The door between you and your Father has been taken off the hinges.
“You are sons and daughters of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3.26)
“This is the day the Lord has made, so we will rejoice and be glad in it!” (Psalm 118.24)
If God made today, and you’re his kid, you own this day. Take a breath, smile at that revelation, and let yourself live every moment of it fully.
