The Way is Clear

While I was praying, I had a picture in my head of someone wasting away in a cell.

But it wasn’t locked.

No matter what you’re facing physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, spiritually—you have all of God’s love, healing, peace, grace, favor, wisdom, and joy to deal with it. You are not a prisoner. You are free, powerful, and brilliant in Jesus Christ.

Your starting place determines your destination. If you see yourself as a loved, powerful child of God, that’s what you will be regardless of the circumstances along the way. If you see yourself as a bitter, powerless, hopeless orphan, that’s as far as you’ll go.

Don’t let a lie, a mistake, or a negative mindset become your prison guard. You are not what fear, humiliation, self-pity, or any other accuser says you are. More than ever, you are who God says you are. You are the son or daughter of the creator of the universe. You are eternally loved, joyfully celebrated, and completely free to become all He sees in you.

Please know you are not alone, you are not a failure, and you are not the enemy’s captive. Try praying something like this:

“Father, I lay all I am, and all I’m facing before You, because I know that if I am in Your presence, then so are all of my circumstances. I ask You to show me how to really live from Your presence toward everyone and everything. In You I know I’m free, and I choose right now to walk out of the cage and into Your presence. Please show me who You want to be for me right now, and who you are empowering me to be in this season. Thank you for every good thing in my life, and for every opportunity to overflow Your love.”

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, so you won’t get trapped in your own head. Respond to all your circumstances from inside His presence, and He will show you the best way to go.” (Proverbs 3.5-6)
