Your peace isn’t a victim of this day. You’re not enduring this week so you can crawl exhausted into a few hours of rest. In Christ, you are a person of rest.
Your peace in God is so powerful, you’re able to overwhelm every lie and temptation, and deal brilliantly with every relationship and circumstance. You work in rest, play in rest, and you are creating an atmosphere around yourself in which others are able to experience what their own lives look like in His rest.
Breathe. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Let Jesus bring your heart and mind into His presence until His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and goodness displace everything that’s not.
Then go give them away.
“My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” (Exodus 33.14)
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4.7)
