Before you deal with another moment of your day, stop. Take a breath. Let your shoulders relax. Close your eyes and focus on one thought: you are entirely loved. Without condition, without working for it, you are completely loved. Despite the last thought you had, or the last thing you said or did, you are wholly loved. You may have been rejected, ignored, lied about, lied to, or cut off in traffic. You may be facing pain, physical and emotional. You may just feel exhausted and worn out.
“I am the Lord, who heals you” (Exodus 15:26b).
“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love. I have drawn you to Myself with unfailing kindness” (Jer. 31:3).
“As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Now remain in My love” (John 15:9).
“Be strong and courageous . . . It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you! He will not leave you or abandon you. Do not fear or be discouraged” (Deut. 31:7a, 8).
God isn’t speaking to who you were, the “old you,” who constantly battled with fear, anxiety, anger, bitterness, and self-righteousness. Leave that person behind. He is speaking to who you are in Him, to who you are becoming. The “new you” of love, peace, joy, and wisdom is brilliant, powerful, fun, and influential. The enemy is intimidated by who you are now in Christ, and terrified of what you may become in Him.
Stay in awareness of His presence. Instead of letting yourself get pulled into someone else’s stress, or your own head, listen for God’s voice in every situation, and deal with the rest of your day from here. Go wherever He goes, and do whatever does. Bless. Heal. Build. Encourage. Laugh. Walk on water.
We used to see Jesus Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! And the same is true of us: anyone who belongs to Him has become a completely new person. The old life is gone, and a new life has begun” (2 Cor. 5:16 &17).
