The Best Day of Your Life

The best days of your life don’t happen by chance.

“Delight yourself in God all day, every day. Celebrate Him with your life! Be fair, gentle, and patient, a genuine blessing to everyone you meet. Help them realize how near the Lord is to them.

Let go of worry. Lift all your thoughts, prayers, and needs to Him in thankfulness—thankfulness for all He’s done, and for all He is. His peace, beyond any earthly reasoning, will bring wholeness to your heart and be a guard for your mind, displacing worry from your life.

Summing it up, my friends, you’ll do your best when you fill your minds with what’s true, honorable, and right—ideas that are pure, beautiful, and admirable. Meditate on what’s excellent and worthy of praise. Put into practice everything I imparted to you—all you heard, saw, and learned. Do that, and the God of peace, who makes everything work together, will be with you always” (Philippians 4:4-9, paraphrase).

Open your tired fists, and let go of your need to know why things happened the way they did, or didn’t happen the way you wanted (Proverbs 3:5 & 6).

Slowly stand up straight, relax your shoulders, and let the heavy burdens that were never yours to bear, fall to the ground (Matt. 11:28-30).

See every rejection, betrayal, wound, offense, and judgment against you as if they were no more than words on a page, a threatening letter written by the enemy. Then take that letter and spread it out before God. Leave it there (2 Kings 19:14).

Let His grace, joy, and hope fill you up, until they become your voice, viewpoint, and vision for making every day the best it can be.
