Change the Waves

As you open your eyes, you realize all the negative things you have to face today aren’t just a bad dream. Waves of dread sweep over you, and you close your eyes again, trying to stay in the last few minutes of pseudo–rest you have before having to deal with it all.

Change the waves. You have the authority and ability to do that with Jesus. He’s inviting you right now to look squarely at all that’s threatening you and command, “Peace—be still.” In the Bible, part of peace’s definition is, “nothing missing, and nothing broken.” That means you get to live whole and healed no matter what’s going on. Peace means you can experience who the Lord wants to be for you right now through all of this, and be empowered to become all He sees in you.

Take a deep breath. Take another. Allow His waves of grace, truth, and love to wash over your heart and mind. Speak His peace over yourself, your family and relationships, and all your circumstances.

This day does not get to hurt you, control you, or diminish who you are. You are God’s child, peaceful, joyful, and powerful.  The things that could go wrong are nothing compared with the things that will go right in pursuing what’s possible with God.

“Through His self–sacrifice, Jesus’ blood sealed the eternal covenant. God the Father then brought our Great Shepherd back from the dead.
May this God of peace, who puts all things together and makes them whole, now put you together. Through the power of Jesus Christ, may He provide you with everything you need to fulfill every good thing He has for you, and may our lives glorify Him forever” (Hebrews 13:20-21).
