“Peace. Be still” (Mark 4:39).
“Peace.”
Say it out loud over your relationships. Speak it out over all your circumstances. Say it again, not as a wish or a plea, but as a declaration of the reality created by God’s presence in your life.
This peace–filled reality is “shalom,” meaning to be secure, joyful, prosperous, and truly at rest in Jesus, a rest which makes you whole, with nothing missing, and nothing broken. Peace is a fruit of God’s Spirit, a fruit that resets a divided mind, and restores a broken heart.
Peace is a place of union with Jesus, a living reality in which he equips and empowers you to grow into who he says you are, overcome the difficult circumstances in your way, and transform the lives around you.
Say it once more: “Peace.” It’s who you are, and how you get to live.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he’s done. Then you will experience his peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).
“I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear, or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!” (John 14:27).
