In 1 Samuel 30, David and his men returned from fighting one enemy to find another had stolen their families. They were overcome with anguish. David’s men planned to kill him, because their misery concluded he must have failed God somehow.
“But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God . . . and God answered him, ‘Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.'” David didn’t find the angry and distant God everyone else was trying to appease. He found a loving God, ready to provide him with all he needed to deal with what was happening.
An invasion of fear, confusion, or heartache doesn’t mean the enemy is in control of your life. It means God has made more than enough love, wisdom, and strength available to pursue, overtake, and recover all.
Equip Your Spirit 
May I see all the wisdom you have written, understanding with clarity that God will do the same for me, as He responded to David’s problem. Because God is no respecter of persons. David prayed. God answered. David did not have to wait weeks for God to speak. Nor did David have to wonder if God heard him. God has not changed. Knock. Seek. Find. Amen.
