Cooking Up a Good Day

Of all the cooking shows I’ve watched, I think my favorite is the original British version of Masterchef: The Professionals. The chefs were supplied with an incredible array of fresh ingredients and great equipment, and given freedom to cook and create. There were no gimmicks or manufactured drama, and the accomplished chef/judge offered helpful advice and constantly encouraged them.

Today can be a Masterchef day for you. Even if the fears, bitterness, and judgments of others try to overwhelm you, never sacrifice your confidence in who God says you are for someone else’s insecure criticism and selfish manipulation. It may feel like they’re more dominant than your own heart at times, but the most powerful person in the room is the one who’s at rest in God, not the one who’s the loudest.

You are surrounded by an amazing collection of fresh opportunities and possibilities. No matter what’s going on, or who has a negative opinion about it, God is with you to encourage and equip you to make this day brilliant. He delights in empowering you to adapt, overcome, and succeed in every challenge testing your heart.

“I dare to hope again when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends, and his loving kindness never ceases—it begins anew each morning. Great is his faithfulness!” (Lam. 3:21-23).
