So, Love.

“Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance” (1 Cor. 13:7).

You can either let God fill your heart and mind with the love you need, or you can let every possibility of every circumstance overwhelm them. I know life and people can be challenging, but what’s the alternative? God is love, and he is light. Therefore choosing an opposite to his nature like bitterness, frustration, or fear to deal with a person or situation is like living in darkness, where you can barely see anyone and anything with the love God does, including yourself.

Love is the best thing you can do, if for no other reason than it’s the nature of Jesus. To resist receiving or giving love is to refuse to become like him, leaving you to rely on your own intellect, feelings, and experience as a substitute god. And you know how great that usually works out.

So, love. Even if you don’t feel like it yet, love. Forgive. Bless. Your willingness to receive and give love puts you back into his light, where he can show you again who you really are in him—his completely blessed, empowered, and loved child.

“Even if I possess unending supernatural knowledge, and have faith powerful enough to move mountains, if I never learn to love, I have nothing” (1 Cor. 13:2b).
