A Little Conversation

“God, this debate has me so frustrated and angry. Why can’t people see it my wa—I mean, your way?”

“You’ve been striving with your brothers and sisters in the outer courtyard for quite a while now. I’d like to invite you to come into the inner court. You’ll need to leave your judgments at the door, but I’ll refresh your heart, and renew your mind. And if you’re willing to open yourself completely, I’ll bring you into the holy place, where my grace and glory will transform you to see everyone as I do, and to love them in genuine righteousness, peace, and joy.

“Thanks, that sounds . . . great. But maybe we could do that another day. I really wanna win this argument for you first—y’know, to bring you glory. By the way, do you have any brimstone I could borrow?”
