You Get to Choose the Reality You Live In

Just a thought . . .

You can argue with someone as much as your offense and insecurity demand. And yes, you can modify behavior through pressure and force. But you’re not really going to change someone’s mind without genuine relationship, or transform a heart outside love.

It’s not your responsibility to fix people. It’s your privilege to love them. You’re never authorized to manipulate, intimidate, or control anyone’s thoughts and actions. But what you are always empowered for is loving, encouraging, and healing people, and being in God’s presence until there’s no room for bitterness, anger, and insecurity in yourself.

We all want to be heard and validated. But it’s faith, hope, and love that go on forever. Proving you’re right while crushing those who disagree with you didn’t quite make the list.

We’re always going to encounter people who live in chaos, bitterness, and fear. Just don’t forget you carry the infinitely greater kingdom realities of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17). You empower the reality to which you give the most attention.
