Un-ashamed

Shame can modify public behavior, but it doesn’t change wrong thinking, and often reinforces it. Shame is a cancer that needs to be removed by God’s grace and truth. Otherwise, the pain it brings will likely get medicated by increasingly stronger and darker levels of the same thoughts that caused it.

Shame is the voice of the enemy saying, “You’re alone, which is all you deserve.” Conviction is the voice of God saying, “I’m here—I’m always here, and it’s time to let me love, heal, and transform you.”

“Because the Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do His will, for I know in Him I will never be put to shame” (Isaiah 50:7).
