“These three will always be with you: faith, hope, and the greatest of all, love” (1 Corinthians 13:13).
Faith isn’t a doctrine.
Hope isn’t a naïve mindset.
Love isn’t an elusive emotion.
Faith is your increasingly bold trust in God’s faithfulness toward you.
Hope is your confident expectation of experiencing God’s goodness, no matter what’s going on around you.
And love.
Love is your identity, your new nature in Christ, your spiritual DNA. It’s your mindset, and your reset. It’s your guide for every relationship, circumstance, and adversity. Love is the soul of your purpose, and the purpose of your soul.
You’re never what failure or “what-could-have-been” have accused you of. You aren’t what’s left after rejection, loss, and pain have assaulted you. And you’re not what you’ve called yourself in your darkest moments.
You are who God says you are. If you don’t yet know who he’s been saying you are, you can always start with love, because God is love, and he’s your Father. Therefore, you are love.
You get to experience God’s love without anyone twisting it. You can think and reason and be brilliant with it. You get to deal with all your relationships and circumstances with love as your filter, guide, and motivator. In Jesus, you are love, so be love.
