Empowered to Engage

The enemy always, always is trying to frustrate and wear you out enough to get you to disengage from who you are in God. He tries to make you confused, anxious, afraid, offended, wounded, self–piteous, self–righteous—whatever will isolate you and focused on your pain. You step back from relationships, purpose, and from God. If we disengage enough, our identity can become hopeless, bitter, judgmental, and closed.

If you have a love relationship with Jesus, his Spirit is in you. The lies of the enemy may seem overwhelming at times, but God’s voice is infinitely stronger, and he’s as close as your own heart. Stopping to listen to him, even for a moment, can change your perspective and mindset so completely, nothing the enemy throws at you can make you give up on who you really are.

Don’t let this day be defined by a voice other than God’s. There are circumstances and people we need to deal with, but none of them deserve to be elevated to a position that determines what you think or how you feel. God is with you. He’s always with you, always loving you, and always encouraging and empowering you to live in all he says you are.

  1. I wholeheartedly agree with what you are saying, but lately it dawned on me, where is the enemy. Where is he actually, physically? I picture him like a villain from the Rocky & Bullwinkle Show, working gears and pushing buttons. 😄
Thank you for your daily dose of good!
