True and Truth

There’s a difference between what is true, and what is truth. It may be true you’re facing a mound of bills, or true you’ve been hurt, rejected, or betrayed. It may be true you feel ill, sad, lonely, or have experienced great loss. Circumstances like these can be so overwhelming, you accept them as your reality.

But the truth is what Jesus says about all those things. The truth is that if you are in Christ, then so are all your circumstances. The truth is who he wants to be for you right now. The truth is who you’re becoming in him, regardless of what you’re dealing with.

Your life is so significant to God. He loves being with you, and demonstrating his love, joy, peace, goodness, kindness, and grace to you. His grace disempowers the control your negative experiences have had over your choices, and empowers your choices to help you become all he sees in you.

Rather than expending your strength fighting to shield yourself from your negative relationships and circumstances, give them all to God. Somehow you’ve unconsciously convinced yourself that makes you feel protected and in control, but it’s the opposite. It makes you justify your resentment and despise your circumstances, which is pure poison to you and everyone around you.

You’ll stop fighting your judgments when you start seeing the truth of who God says you are. You are his child, made to be blessed, and to bless others. You’re being transformed from glory to glory, to experience ever–increasing measures of God’s grace, peace, joy, kindness, goodness, and love, despite anything that tries to keep you from him.

Breathe.

Express gratitude for every good thing in your life until you can feel it.

Listen.

Open your heart to God’s love for you again.

Release to him what you never really had control of anyway.

Let go of any fear, bitterness, and anger you’ve had.

Forgive those you’ve blamed for causing them.

Bless them.

Bless your family and friends.

Bless your own life.

Ask God who he wants to be for you right now, and who you’re becoming in him.

Let him show you how powerful you are when you deal with everything in his strength, peace, grace, and truth.

Bless God.

Enjoy his presence.

Live.

“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. As we continue to behold his glory in unveiled freedom, we’re transformed, always becoming more and more like him” (2 Cor. 3:17b-18).
