Looking for Love

Any time I step outside God’s presence for a while, not only do I feel completely alone, love can seem like an obligation, joy turns to cynicism, and peace falls into frustration.

You were never meant to walk this road alone. Regardless of your circumstances, don’t let the enemy trick, tempt, or tire you into believing you are. Jesus has a way for you that deals brilliantly with everything in your life, without being controlled or beat up by them.

Take a few deep breaths. Relax your shoulders, and let go of everything you’ve been carrying on them that God never asked you to. Let him renew your awareness of his love, joy, and peace. So often that’s how you’ll know which way to go—no matter what the path looks like, wherever you’re experiencing his genuine nature and character, that’s where your next step with him is.

If we really understood how powerfully liberating, transformative, and influential the love, joy, and peace of God really are, we’d never forget to look for them, and we’d never use anything less to deal with people. Or ourselves.

“They said to each other, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32).
