The Real You

Statistically, this week is supposed to be one of the most depressing for people—it’s cold and dark in most places, and the post–holiday blahs and already failed resolutions add to the malaise. But that’s not you. The Christmas you, the one who lives in wonder, excitement, freedom, joy, peace, and love, the one who is so intimately connected to God—that’s who you are.

Just because the calendar says it’s a different day, doesn’t mean you have to be a different person. Stir up the real you. Focus your heart and mind on your true identity in God, and overflow that everywhere you go today. No matter how dark and depressing it looks where you are, you get to live in constant light and joy.

“You are the light of the world” (Matt. 5:14a).
