“I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you and prayed. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a confident, determined mindset” (2 Tim 1:6-7).
This word from Paul to Timothy is for you, too. The gift is your core identity, your redemptive persona, who you really are in Jesus. Stirring up that gift resurrects your dreams, passions, and purposes, and all that makes you come fully alive. Even when you can only see a tiny part of it, God’s vision for your life throws the door open for hope, peace, and confident joy.
Let God reignite your mind and heart for life. Let him remind you of all that’s in you, and all that’s possible in him. Write down that vision for your life and begin, or begin again, to walk in that direction. Keep it in front of you. Speak it as an affirmation of who you are and what you’re capable of. Let it grow as your relationship with God grows. Every step you take with him increases the gifts he’s given you, and displaces every fear that’s been trying to hold you back.
