This old Michael Card album cover (painted by his brother, George) will always be one of my favorite works of art. It reminds me it doesn’t matter the actual nativity wasn’t in December. It doesn’t matter corporations use Christmas to try and sell us stuff we don’t need. It doesn’t matter we venerate a fat old man who runs a slave labor force and commits millions of B&Es every year.
It just doesn’t matter, as long as we know Father God spoke one word, one final word of perfect love to bring redemption, peace, and joy to every heart open to receiving that Word:
Jesus.
