“I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the fragile and fleeting kind the world offers, but my complete and perfect peace. Let this peace fill you and drive out every fear and anxious thought from your heart” (John 14:27).
Peace isn’t a conditional treaty between you and God, or a contract that has to be renegotiated every time you fail. And it’s not a feeling dependent on your circumstances. Because Jesus IS peace, so are you. It’s a foundational part of your new nature in him.
The peace he’s imparted to you is part of your spiritual DNA, your permanent completeness, confidence, and calm. Because Jesus won peace for you through his death and resurrection, you never have to earn it. That means you get to think in peace, feel in peace, and live toward everyone in peace, overflowing it into every relationship and circumstance.
Peace is the state of your mind, the strength of your heart, and the transforming power in your voice. No matter what you’re facing today, there’s nothing more powerful in front of you than the peace inside you.
