Fight back at fear, frustration, and fatigue by focusing on how greatly you’re loved, how amazingly you’ve been blessed, and that you have so much peace available to you, rest is becoming one of your strongest weapons.
You will get through this brilliantly if you remember you can’t afford to think about yourself differently than God does . . .
“When I pray, I know you will answer, O God. You will show me your unfailing love in wonderful ways. By your mighty power, you rescue those who trust you as their refuge from their enemies. You always guard me as the apple of your eye, and hide me in the shadow of your wings” (Psalm 17:6-8).
“The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me. Your love, O Lord, endures forever” (Psalm 138:8).
“You created my inmost being. You formed me in my mother’s womb. I know everything you do is wonderful, and so I praise and thank you because I know I also am astonishingly and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:13-14).
“I never think anything evil toward you! All the thoughts I have toward you are of wholeness, prosperity, and true peace. They’re plans that will give you hope, and a good future” (Jeremiah 29:11).
“Not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. So don’t worry. He even knows how many hairs are on your head. He cares deeply about even the smallest detail of your life” (Matthew 10:29-31).
“Those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons and daughters of God. You didn’t receive a spirit that makes you a slave to fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of sonship. And by that Spirit we are able to be so close to him we can call him ‘Abba,’ which means ‘Daddy’ (Romans 8:14-15).
“Don’t conform your identity to what you see around you. Be transformed by renewing your mind in God’s presence, and your life will demonstrate the lovingkindness, goodness, and wholeness that are his will for you” (Romans 12:2).
