You are not who failure, pain, and fear have hissed at you. You are who God says you are. If you’re having a hard time hearing what he’s been saying about that, start here: God is love, and he’s your Father. Therefore, you are love.
That doesn’t mean you get his attention once in a while, if you’ve earned it. It means you are love, just as he is. It’s part of your new nature in Christ. His love is your identity. It’s the very least you can ever be.
You get to feel God’s love without anyone twisting it. You get to think free of everything love filters out. You get to deal with all your relationships and circumstances with love as your guide and strength.
In Jesus, you are love.
So, be love.
“The light of God’s love shined within us when he sent his matchless Son into the world so that we might live through him” (1 John 4:9, TPT).
