God isn’t distressed about what’s going on in your life, which means you don’t need to be either. Nothing you’ve done, or haven’t done, has lessened his love for you, and nothing that’s happened to you has changed his commitment to growing you into all he sees you can be.
If there are areas of your life that are constant sources of worry, then in your heart, lay them down before him. Expose them to his love and grace. If you need to, give them to him every day, until they lose their power.
Let God show you how he sees each relationship and situation in your life. Let him teach you who he wants to be for you in all of them, and who he sees you becoming through it all.
No matter how anyone else has hurt you, trust Jesus loves you—perfectly, completely, and ceaselessly loves you. Even when he asks you for your old mindset, it’s never to leave you empty and defenseless, it’s because his love brings you fully to life, and gives you a far greater vision than you’ve ever had before.
“I trust in your unfailing love” (Psalm 13:5).
