True and Truth

There’s a big difference between what’s true and what’s truth. It may be true you’re facing a mound of bills, or true you’ve been hurt, rejected, or betrayed. It may be true you feel ill, sad, lonely, or have experienced great loss. Circumstances like these can be so overwhelming, you accept them as your reality.

But the truth is what Jesus says about all those things. The truth is that if you are in Christ, then so is everything you’re dealing with. The truth is who he wants to be for you right now. The truth is who you’re becoming in him, regardless of what’s happening around you.

Take a deep breath.
Thank God for every good thing in your life until you can feel it.
Listen.

Open your heart to his love for you again.
Let go of any fear, bitterness, and anger you’ve had.
Forgive those you’ve blamed for causing them.
Bless them.
Bless your family and friends.
Bless your own life.

Take another deep breath.
Ask God who he wants to be for you right now, and who you’re becoming in him. Ask him to show you how he sees all you’re facing. Let him show you how powerful you are when you deal with everything in his strength, peace, grace, and truth.

Take one more deep breath.
Enjoy his presence.
Live.

“The law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17).
