“The angel said to me, ‘This is the word of the Lord to you: “It’s not by might or power you’ll accomplish your assignment, but by my Spirit,” says the Lord of angel armies. “The mountain in front of you will be reduced to nothing. You’ll complete this journey with shouts of ‘Grace, grace!’ ” ‘ ” (Zechariah 4:6–7, paraphrase).
The mountain in front of you usually isn’t literal rock. It just feels that way. It’s the ongoing physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges you’re facing. It’s the work, bills, and expectations of others you have to deal with. It’s the wounds of the past, and uncertainties of the future.
“Grace, grace.” That’s what you say to the mountain. You see it with God’s grace, you deal with it from his grace, and you live in his grace, no matter what you’re dealing with. Grace is God’s unceasing presence, empowering you to be and equipping you to do all he says is possible.
Take a few deep breaths. God is right there with you. He’s never left you. Take his hand by trusting him with your heart. As you do, you’ll feel the grace, peace, and strength he’s giving you to overcome every mountain in your way today.
