My camera can only do so much, so it’s not a detailed photo. But planets fascinate me. Venus is the second brightest object in our night sky. It has an atmospheric pressure 92 times ours, a surface temperature of 863°F (462°C), and is so brilliant because of the sunlight reflecting off the thick clouds of sulfuric acid surrounding it.
Not exactly a vacation destination. But it reminds me that even when I can’t see the details of where I’m going, there will always be something to discover and learn, even if it’s just about myself.
That’s what the Proverb below has meant to me most of my life, because no matter where God has led me, he has always been loving, kind, patient, and has equipped me with everything I need. So even if the road ahead looks like 92 times the pressure, I know if Jesus is taking me there, it’s exactly where I need to be.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, so you won’t get trapped in your own head. Respond to all your circumstances from inside his presence, and he will show you the best way to go” (Proverbs 3:5-6, paraphrased).
