No one can make sense of evil. But evil can’t fathom love. No matter what evil has done, I have found over and over an infinitely greater love and grace to overwhelm it. Love steers grief away from dark, unsolvable labyrinths, and into the comforting, healing arms of God. I may never fully understand “why,” but every season of grief has helped me know “who” a little more.
“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary from carrying heavy burdens, weights never intended for you to bear. Listen to me, and I will teach you to live in my rest” (Matt. 11:28, paraphrase).
