Some days seem so difficult, and all you want to do is close your eyes and try to push it away with a few minutes of pseudo–rest until you have to deal with the waves of dread trying to wash over you.
Change the waves. You have the authority and ability to do that with Jesus. He’s inviting you right now to look squarely at all that’s threatening you and command, “Peace—be still.” In the Bible, part of peace’s definition is, “nothing missing, and nothing broken.” That means you get to live whole and healed no matter what’s going on. Peace means you can experience who the Lord wants to be for you right now through all of this, and be empowered to become all he sees in you.
Take a deep breath. Take another. Allow his waves of grace, truth, and love to wash over your heart and mind. Speak his peace over your mind, your heart, your family and relationships, and all your circumstances.
This day does not get to hurt you, control you, or diminish who you are. You are God’s child, peaceful, joyful, and powerful. The things that could go wrong are nothing compared with the things that will go right in agreeing with what God says is possible.
“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are resting on you” (Isaiah 26:3).
