“My promise to you is the same as my promise to Moses: wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you” (Joshua 1:3).
This was the promise given to Israel, but they only ever lived in a fraction of the area God told them they could have. Whatever the reasons—enemies, fears, failures—they never fully occupied the gift. God told Joshua he would be with them every step of the way, yet time and time again they chose to walk on their own, neglecting God’s offers of love, wisdom, and grace.
You may feel like quitting—overwhelmed, exhausted, stretched beyond your limit. But please don’t give up. Take another step today, and let that step be in God’s strength. His promises for you are just as amazing as when he first talked with you, and he’d love nothing more than to teach you how to live fully in every one of them, healing, equipping, and empowering you as you go.
Breathe. Let Jesus speak to your soul, and to your circumstances. Read the Psalms until you find the one he’s giving you for this season of your life. Stand. Let his love strengthen you for all you need to deal with spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Take a confident step. Everywhere you go, you’re walking in God’s promises.
