The more you focus on what’s wrong with the world, the more likely you are to become your own embittered version of it. I don’t believe God wants us to be ignorant, but too often we let negativity become an expectation, and even a mindset. In fact, according to Psychology Today, up to 70% of our self-talk is negative.
But what if it wasn’t?
The thoughts God has for you are infinitely more wonderful and powerful than the evil in the world. But they need your purposeful attention and agreement to transform the way you think and live.
First among these thoughts is how greatly, completely, and perfectly you’re loved. Please, never agree with anything less, especially when you’ve failed, or others have failed you. Tenaciously nurture God’s love for you until it overwhelms every lie and fear, and replaces them with his truth and grace.
Just a thought.
“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1:7).
