Royalty

“O Shepherd. You said you would make my feet like hinds’ feet and set me upon High Places.”

“Well”, he answered, “the only way to develop hinds’ feet is to go by the paths which the hinds use.”

—Hannah Hurnard, “Hinds’ Feet on High Places”

Why do you, a beloved son or daughter of God, an inheritor of his kingdom, relinquish your royalty when life doesn’t go as expected? You have complete access to the throne of God, but every time you mess up, instead of running to him, you disinherit yourself from his grace and sentence yourself to isolation in a spiritual prison.

Every day you choose to live your inheritance in compassionate grace, joyful confidence, and overflowing blessing, your Father the King is growing you into an even more brilliant, powerful son or daughter. He never abandons you when you fail, and doesn’t threaten to disinherit you when you’re struggling. He is your source of strength, your guide, and your biggest cheerleader—when you’re doing your best, and when you fall down.

Stay in his love. Trust him on every path. Live in all he says you are. Bless others so greatly with your royalty they have their own encounters with the King.
