Some days, it’s all you can do to find a moment alone to breathe before you have to deal with the waves of dread trying to wash over you.
But you can quiet those waves. You have the authority and ability to do that with Jesus. He’s inviting you right now to look squarely at all that’s threatening you and command, “Peace—be still.”
In the Bible, part of peace’s definition is, “nothing missing, and nothing broken.” That means you get to live in God’s grace and strength no matter what’s going on. Peace means you can experience who he wants to be for you right now through all of this, and be empowered to become all he sees in you.
Take a deep breath. Take another. Allow his waves of grace, strength, and love to wash over your heart and mind. Bless your life, your relationships, and all your circumstances with his peace.
This day does not get to hurt you, control you, or diminish who you are. You are God’s child—peaceful, joyful, and powerful. The things that could go wrong are nothing compared with the things that will go right in agreeing with what God says is possible in his peace.
“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are resting on you” (Isaiah 26:3).
… “nothing missing, and nothing broken.” Beautiful. This is the first time hearing peace defined like that!
