You live in and reproduce the reality to which you’ve surrendered your heart and submitted your mind. If you recognize anger, resentment, or fears of loss, rejection, failure, and change have become regular undercurrents within yourself, take a figurative step back, and a physical deep breath.
Instead of focusing on what others say has gone wrong, or might, and who they think you are, or not, lay every thought and feeling that isn’t a fruit of the Spirit in front of God. It may not be a physical action, but it’s a real one. It’s an everyday choice to see through faith what you can’t through fear.
Take another deep breath. As the burdens lift off your mind, and fears run from your heart, ask Jesus to replace them with his good, redeeming, and transforming thoughts about you, your relationships, and your world. You are still who God says you are.
