Patrick was born in Britain in the 4th century. At 16, he was captured by pirates and sold as a slave in Ireland, where he was made to serve as a shepherd. He escaped after six years. His time of captivity deepened his faith in Jesus Christ, and years later he felt God calling him back to Ireland as a missionary, where he spent the rest of his life serving as a different kind of shepherd.
If you want to honor Saint Patrick’s Day well, take time to let God show you how he wants to transform the most difficult parts of your life into the most powerful parts of your identity. You’re not just a product of your experiences. You are the sum of your Father’s love.
