Driving through fields of wild mustard, thinking of one little seed times millions, and paraphrasing in my head one of my favorite scriptures:
“Does it mean God no longer loves us if we experience disasters, heartache, deprivation, oppression, and threats to our lives? Of course not! Nothing in the entire universe can ever lessen his love for us. What it means when we experience any adversity is that we can be confident the love of Jesus will empower us to overcome it” (Romans 8:35a, 37, 38a, paraphrase).
We will overcome this and recover. That’s not really the question. The question will be, did we seize the opportunity for faith, hope, and love to grow in us, far greater than the viral threat to our lives?
