Stubbornness is often seen as a negative, but it’s positive and powerful when it comes to denying fear a place of influence in your life. Obstinately refuse to submit to the fears of failure, loss, and the unknown. Especially now. Stand unwavering in your hope and peace against every word of doom and despair. Fear will only ever have as much power over your life as you allow.
In your own strength, I know that’s difficult. But you’re not alone, and you have the very opposite of fear to encourage, equip, and empower you. The Bible says God is love itself, and there’s no fear in his love (1 John 4:7-21). One of the greatest things you can do for yourself is to simply receive and give away the love and grace he’s offering in exchange for your fears.
“At the edge of the water, Jesus said to them, ‘Let’s cross to the other side.’
Along the way, a great storm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat. But Jesus was asleep. They woke him in a panic, and said, “Don’t you care we’re about to die?”
He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace! Be still!’ Immediately there was a great calm. He said to them, ‘Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?’” (Mark 4).
If Jesus says you and he are going to cross over the Pandemic Sea to a new chapter in your life, you can confidently and stubbornly believe it, no matter what fear tries to sink you.
