“Satisfy our souls each morning with your unfailing love, so we may be truly glad and speak from that joy every day. Give us happiness in proportion to our former misery. Replace the bad times with good. Let us experience your great acts again, and let our children see your glory. And let the loveliness of our Lord, our God, rest on us, and make our efforts successful” (Psalm 90:14-17, paraphrase).
Each day God wants to give you fresh measures of love, joy, peace, kindness, wisdom, and grace. Not because you’ve performed well enough, but because that’s who he is. He delights in filling your heart and mind until you can see, think, and live beyond the reach of fear, frustration, and resentment.
Take a deep breath. Give Jesus the worries, wounds, and weariness. Then ask him how he sees you, your relationships, and all you’re facing. Ask him who he’s transforming you to become through all this, and let yourself rest in joyful confidence that he will be with you every step of the way.
