The best is yet to come!
How can I write that, when there are still so many difficulties to deal with—medical, racial, financial, political, educational—circumstances that can be overwhelming now, with more unknowns ahead? Heck, we haven’t even gotten to the real election season yet.
The best is yet to come because God sees you not just as you are, but as you look in the future. His plans for you are so transformational—healing, growing, equipping, and blessing who he sees you becoming, that to him, you’re absolutely brilliant.
You may not always feel like it, but you really are growing to be more and more like Jesus—more peaceful, joyful, loving, wiser, stronger, freer. Any circumstances you face, you’ll do it as a son or daughter, fully at rest in your Father’s plans for you, and fully strengthened by his love for you.
Breathe. Talk to him. Pour out the uncertainty, pain, and fear in your heart to him, and then let him fill it with his faithfulness, hope, and love. Let him encourage, equip, and empower you for this day, and give you his peace about tomorrow.
The best is yet to come because the best of him is being revealed in you.
“For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11).
