But Who Do You Say He Is?

God isn’t nervous. About anything. He’s not stressed out about what’s going on in your life, and nothing you’ve done, or haven’t done, has lessened his love for you, or his commitment to growing you into all he sees you can become. He’s not even anxious about the state of the world, though he is passionate about empowering, equipping, and encouraging you to love, bless, and influence it.

I know it’s not always easy, but if there are areas of your life that are constant sources of worry, then in your heart, lay them down before him. Expose them to his grace, peace, joy, and love. Let him show you how he sees each relationship and situation. Let him teach you who he wants to be for you in it, and who he sees you becoming through it.

Trust him. Trust in his love for you, especially when he asks you for your old mindset. It’s never to leave you empty and defenseless, it’s to give you a far greater vision, and bring you fully to life.

“As they were walking along, Jesus asked them, “Who do people say I am?”

“Well,” they replied, “some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say you are one of the other prophets.”

Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?”

Peter replied, “You are the Messiah” (Mark 8:27b-28).
