Love Never Fails

“God is love” (1 John 4:8). You’ve heard that so many times, it can lose its meaning. But to deal well with everyone and everything in your life means you need to be more intentional than ever about living in his love.

Most of the enemy’s resources are spent on getting you outside God’s love—living in fear, bitterness, and self-pity. But you can bankrupt the enemy by choosing love as your response to each situation that tempts you to agree with something less. You can make yourself too costly to attack by staying inside the identity his love is developing in you. Rather than becoming worn down, you can exhaust, frighten, and depress the enemy by seizing each opportunity to grow your intimacy with God.

Start, or restart, this day by remembering how much you’re loved. Beyond all expectations and obligations on you, you are loved. Past all your failures and faults, you are loved. Surpassing every negative thing spoken against you, and every dark thought in your head, you are loved. So breathe. Know that if you’re in his love, then so are all your relationships, and circumstances. God’s got you, so he’s got them.

“None of this fazes us, because Jesus loves us” (Romans 8:37, MSG).
