I took this in the Lehigh Tunnel several years ago. I thought about photoshopping a light at the end for the stereotypical picture, but that’s not always how it happens. Sometimes you can’t see the end, and the journey seems longer and darker with every step. And yet, your heart knows there’s a light at the end of the tunnel you’ve been going through, if for no other reason than because God is light. And the more you dwell on the hope, peace, and joy of that revelation, the more you realize he’s been lighting your way the whole time.
“This is the life-giving message we heard him share and it’s still ringing in our ears. We now repeat his words to you: God is pure light. You will never find even a trace of darkness in him” (1 John 1:5, TPT).
No matter how dark things may seem, please don’t quit. Take another step. I promise there’s light up ahead, because that’s who Jesus is.
