You may not always see them, but the world is full of gaps. They’re the voids created by rejection, pain, fear, and bitterness. For many, the gaps become larger at Christmas.
But to heal them, Jesus didn’t come in overwhelming power. Forcing people to worship him would just have created more fractures. To seal the breaks, he came in the opposite way—in complete helplessness. The Creator of the universe coming to us as a baby, God sacrificing his glory and his life, so that we could be filled with them.
If you want to give truly great gifts this Christmas, be intentional with that life. Spend time filling your heart and mind with all the joy, peace, healing, wisdom, faith, hope, and love God has for you, then give the overflow away, healing and blessing everyone who will receive them.
