God isn’t nervous. About anything. He’s not freaked out about what’s going on in your life. There’s no situation you’re facing that scares him. Nothing you’ve done, or haven’t done, has lessened his love for you, or his commitment to growing you into the best version of yourself.
He’s not even anxious about the state of the world, although he is passionate about waking you up to what’s going on in it. Not because he’s afraid of what might happen, or because he wants you to troll everyone who’s offended him. He wakes you up to see all the opportunities you have to love. He’s transforming the world by transforming you.
He’s empowering you to see people as he does, including all those who need to receive his love, hope, compassion, goodness, kindness, and grace. He’s teaching you where to focus your prayers and how, whether it’s for your child in the next room, or for the homeless one you’ve never met thousands of miles away.
The Holy Spirit doesn’t give people anxiety. But if you’re constantly nervous and worried, he may be making you aware of those areas of your life that need more joy and peace. Let him. Let him show you how he sees the circumstances. Let him tell you who he wants to be for you in them, and who he sees you becoming through them.
God isn’t nervous. About anything. And that means you don’t have to be either.
