I’ve posted this picture before because it’s kinda nice. But I’m doing it again because though it may look like an idyllic spot I found in the Sonoma hills, I actually took it in a Walmart parking lot. And not the nice Walmart, but the one with the crappy carts.
God’s peace, joy, hope, healing, and love go with you. They’re not found only on scenic mountain tops and warm tropical beaches. It seems easier to experience them there because you feel strong enough to quiet the demands and frustrations of life. But you’re the one who’s brought them. They’re part of you, because Jesus is always with you. Even when you feel powerless, he has all the strength you need to silence the threat of every fear and all the grace to process every loss.
It’s not the location that’s peaceful and powerful. It’s you.
“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God” (Ephesians 3:18-19).
