I have good news for you: no one but you has control over what you think and feel.
And there’s more good news: you’re not in control of anyone else’s thoughts and feelings, either. You get to love people without needing to fix them first.
I may not be able to give you a satisfying reason why those who’ve hurt you deserve the freedom of your forgiveness. But there’s a lot of good reasons why you deserve to be free from letting their offenses continue to wound your heart and dominate your mind.
“Christ has set you completely free. Live in this truth, and refuse to go back to the bondages of your past” (Galatians 5:1, paraphrase).
